Dear BITCORE Community,

The Bitcore BTX team is pleased to announce a new version of the Electrum-BTX wallet designed to work with TREZOR. To make Bitcore easier to use is an important goal for the Bitcore team, and this new version of Electrum-BTX moves Bitcore even closer to this goal. Electrum-BTX does not only allow the users to dispense with backups and blockchain downloads, but it also allows Bitcore to be integrated with the popular Trezor hardware wallet! This provides the users of Electrum-BTX the facility store their Bitcore coins on the Trezor device.

While some people are happy storing their cryptocurrency in softwares or desktop wallets, some wants to have more secure wallets. For every long-term investor a very suitable solution. However for long-term ‘HOLD’, you can use a paper wallet or a Hardware wallet. For Bitcore HOLDers and everyone else, we are very excited to announce Bitcore BTX integration with the Trezor hardware wallet. Trezor One firmware 1.7.1 version now supports Bitcore BTX. Now, your Bitcore has become even safer and more secure.

Electrum is a lightweight and extremely secure wallet that has long been popular in the Bitcoin community. Electrum is also extremely secure, with the ability to enable two-factor authentication, and never requires backups, since the wallet is deterministic. That means all Bitcore users addresses can be recovered by using a single secret phrase.

As we know, you can use the Trezor with Electrum which handles Trezor accounts as separate wallets. Electrum allows you to import a “watching-only” version of your Trezor wallet. It works exactly in the same way as a Standard Electrum wallet, except that it contains no private keys (for obvious security reasons). When you want to send a transaction (or sign a message), you must have the Trezor connected. Electrum sends first the transaction to the device. You check all the details and then confirm the transaction on the device. The device sign the transaction and send it back to Electrum so that Electrum can broadcast it to the network. That way your private keys never leave the device.

As mentioned above, even though Bitcore BTX is not integrated in Trezor Wallet (web wallet), it can be used with Electrum-BTX, with the seed and the private keys protected by the Trezor device. In this tutorial we will show you the way to use your Trezor One and Trezor T devices with Bitcore BTX by using our new version of Electrum, Electrum-BTX.

Some more details
A hardware wallet is a physical electronic device, built for the sole purpose of securing cryptocurrencies. Hardware wallets are a good choice if you are serious about a safe and convenient, reliable coin storage. The core innovation is that the hardware wallet must be connected to your computer, cellphone, or tablet before coins may be spent.

Trezor is one of the most trusted and ubiquitous hardware wallets in the world, created by SatoshiLabs which is the innovator behind some of the most pivotal and influential projects with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Everyting from TREZOR as the world’s first cryptocurrency hardware wallet, or CoinMap.org to Slush Pool, the world’s first bitcoin mining pool (1). It offers a one of a kind security for cryptocurrencies, password management and Second Factor, while maintaining an absolute ease-of-use system, whether you are a security expert or a brand new user. (2) Of course nothing is ever completely safe, but the Trezor is the closest thing to it. Don’t worry about your hardware wallet getting stolen, lost or damaged, as long as you create a secret backup code, you can always retrieve your cryptocurrencies easy, fast and safe.

While Bitcorean beginners are making their way to the crypto market possibly with small investments, which typically does not require a hardware wallet, those who have been part of the market for long time normally can take the additional measure to secure their bitcores. In this instance we recommend to use Bitcore paper wallet (3) or hardware wallet (Trezor). It is important to mention that Bitcoreans should be careful to keep his or her keys in a safety way, otherwise they will not be able to gain access to what is stored in the wallet.
